As ITS solutions are often composed from multiple existing and new Hardware and software components, the system integration and operational implementation of these components are a critical activity. It may happen that the components may perform well individually, but – for a wide variety of reasons – do not interface well or provide the required performance when integrated. This is not necessarily a problem of the suppliers of the individual components, but an incompatibility of the interfaces, which is the system integrator’s responsibility.
